ABOUT US

My name is Yesenia De Jesús, and food has always been my love language. Growing up with Puerto Rican roots in Caguas, I learned early on that a meal is never just about what’s on the plate—it’s about bringing people together, sharing stories, and creating memories.

 

Much of my inspiration came from my grandfather, who passed down not only recipes, but the heart and soul of what it means to cook with love. His influence sparked my passion for the kitchen, reminding me that every dish can tell a story and connect generations.

 

My journey started in catering and blossomed into teaching kids the joy of cooking, no matter their abilities or backgrounds. Along the way, I found myself constantly inspired by the flavors of my heritage, and curious about the rich, vibrant cuisines of other cultures. That curiosity sparked a dream: to create something new, something that danced between traditions—Salsa & Samba.

 

Salsa & Samba was created from love—a love for culture, food, and each other. At the heart of it all is my partner, Raphael. He is the Samba, bringing the rhythm, soul, and warmth of Brazil. I am the Salsa, carrying the spice, vibrance, and spirit of Puerto Rico. Together, we blend our flavors, passions, and dreams to create something that is uniquely ours.

 

Our slogan says it best: “Where Two Cultures Met, Danced, and Became One.” It’s not just words—it’s the story of Salsa & Samba, and the love behind everything we do.
